Warren Buffett’s Shifting Stance on the US Dollar Amid BRICS Ascent
Warren Buffett's confidence in the US dollar has waned significantly over the past decade as BRICS nations advance their de-dollarization agenda. In 2015, the Oracle of Omaha declared the greenback WOULD dominate as the world’s reserve currency for 50 years. "The dollar is going to be the reserve currency for a long, long time," he asserted during an Investopedia interview.
By 2025, Buffett’s tone turned bearish amid BRICS' growing influence. He criticized Federal Reserve policies and suggested local currencies might offer better long-term value. "The USD is a currency that could soon go to hell," he warned, citing trade wars and tariffs that undermine dollar hegemony.
